Susie Katherine Keatts Dawson, age 88, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at her home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Jeremy Hayes and Brother Stephen Childers officiating and burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Dawson was born on November 11, 1935, in Honey Grove, KY, the daughter of the late James Otto and Simmie Burchett Keatts. She was retired from Southern Printing. Susie was a charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World Lodge 5. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell Dawson, and her brother, Otto Keatts.
Survivors include her son, Baron Dawson (Debbie) of Shelbyville, KY; her daughters, Vicki Mitchell (Roonie) of Elkton, KY and Regina Dawson of Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren, Chasity Shanklin, Travis Mitchell, Katherine Dickman, Brent Dawson, and Emily Dawson; her nine great-grandchildren; and her two great-great-grandchildren.
