City Council Approves Grant and Incentive for Industries

The City of Hopkinsville is helping ensure industrial growth in the city.

Tuesday night, City Council voted to approve incentives for Huhtamaki, which City Clerk Brittany Byrum outlined.

click to download audioCouncilmembers also voted to approve a municipal order allowing Mayor JR Knight to sign a grant agreement with the state and Toyota Boshoku America. The $750,000 will be used in the construction of the plant on Weyman’s Way, which is expect to create 157 new jobs.

In other business, Chief Financial Officer, Melissa Clayton says revenue for the city is holding close to budgeted numbers.
