Mary Allen Petty, age 84, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at her home of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Jesse Brown officiating and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2023, from 9:30 AM until the service hour at 11:00 AM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Petty was born in Linton, Kentucky, on February 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Allie Allen of Christian County. She was a significant part of the Kentucky American Seed Garden-n-Gifts where she loved to help others cultivate a love for flowers. Mary was a member of Casky Baptist Church for over 60 years where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a Brownie leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Robbye Ellis, and her husband Dan Ellis.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles L. Petty of Hopkinsville, her sons Keith Petty of Hopkinsville, David Petty (Kristie) of Hopkinsville, her daughter Julie Petty Jenkins (Jerry) of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Shirley Killebrew (late husband Delmar) of Owensboro, Linda Ellis (late husband Jerome) of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Kay Gresham (George) of Hopkinsville, Dianne Dunigan (Jack) of Benton, her grandchildren, Jessica Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, Tyler Petty, Tanner Daugherty, and Maci Petty; and her great-grandchildren, Sloan Jenkins, Steele Jenkins, and Tilly Petty.
