David Glenn Barnes, 70, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 6:28 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home in Hopkinsville.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville, with burial to follow. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Madisonville, Kentucky he was born on November 16, 1953, the son of the late Paul W. Barnes and Ernestine Neisz Barnes. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Barnes, and a sister, Pauletta Mason.
He was a disc jockey for local radio stations in Cadiz and Elkton, Kentucky. He also worked for Kentucky American Seed and Stewart Lumber Company. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan, and a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sister: Faye (Buddy) Matthews of Russellville, KY; a cousin, Marlene Byrd of Princeton, KY and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
