Caldwell Regional Career Center Receives Robotics Donation

The Caldwell Regional Career Center has received a donation of robotics kits.

Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Wynn with Caldwell County Public Schools says the Information Technology Class recently received a generous contribution of 10 Finch Robots and 10 SPIKE LEGO Sets through the GEAR UP Grant from West Kentucky Educational Cooperative.

According to Wynn, Information Technology teacher Brian Chastain is excited about integrating these resources into his programming and game design courses. Emphasizing the importance of hands-on experience, Chastain highlights that students will now witness the tangible outcomes of their programming efforts.

Wynn says CCRC Principal Zach Thomas, who is a former engineering and technology teacher, brings his passion for robotics to the forefront, recognizing the significance of providing students with hands-on resources.

Both Thomas and Chastain expressed their gratitude to the West Kentucky Educational Cooperative and anticipate the profound impact this donation will have on shaping the future of area students.

Chastain said the purchase of the robotics is going to change the kids in his classroom. He added that some of the kids in his classroom are going to change the world for good, and this is the first brick in the foundation for them.
