This year Black History Month focuses on “African Americans and the Arts.” In recognition of the importance of lived experiences and cultural influences, Hopkinsville and Christian County presented the Human Rights Commission with a proclamation Tuesday night.

click to download audioThe HRC is hosting several events highlighting Black History, including “Spirit of Harriet Tubman & An Evening with Leslie McCurdy” this Friday at the Alhambra Theatre and the annual Trivia Bowl next Saturday, February 17, at Hopkinsville Community College. Chambers was joined by other members of the Human Rights Commission to accept the proclamation.
