A Pembroke woman was charged with fleeing after she reportedly drove off during a traffic stop on Pembroke Road Tuesday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped 25-year-old Maniya Thompson for speeding near Krusteaz Way and during the stop, she drove off fleeing towards Pembroke before stopping again at the intersection of Clara Drive.
She was reportedly found to have two kids in the car and claimed she thought the deputy was just following her home.
Thompson was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, failure to maintain required insurance, failure to use a child restraint device in a motor vehicle, and two counts of second-degree wanton endangerment.
