Herbert Latney Hayes, 95, of Greenville, Kentucky died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at his residence.
A native of Frogtown, Kentucky he was born on May 17, 1928 the son of the late Eulah Mayes and Althea Willoughby Mayes. In his working years he worked as a machinist. He married Genevieve Green and raised a family of seven children.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great granddaughter Mallory Falkenberg and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years Genevieve Mayes; sons: David (Melanie) Mayes of Greenville, Kentucky; Timothy Mayes of Paducah, Kentucky; Daniel (Lisa) Mayes of McIntyre, Georgia; daughters: Theresa Barnabee of Russellville, Kentucky; Cynthia (Larry) Falkenberg of Milledgeville, Georgia; Rebecca (Donald) Flair of Smyrna, Tennessee; and Jessica (Micah) King of Greenville, Kentucky; brothers: Thomas (Shirley) Mayes of Central City, Kentucky; Larry (Pam) Mayes of Central City, Kentucky; sister; Jean Felton of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
