A man was charged with burglary after a hunting cabin was found badly damaged Saturday.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say 46-year-old Keith Elkins was identified by trail camera footage after he broke into the cabin and damaged ceilings and doors in multiple rooms, removed copper pipes and wiring, took off slats and siding, and damaged a barn on the property.

Kitchen appliances, bedding, tools, freezers, and a dryer are reportedly missing from the building. The stolen items are valued at $5,000.

Elkins is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and theft by unlawful taking.
