A Christian County man was charged with assaulting a police officer and terroristic threatening after being arrested on traffic violations Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Shycorian Bailey after he was seen driving at a high rate of speed and slammed on his brakes on South Main Street causing his vehicle to slide.
During the stop, he reportedly started yelling and the odor of alcohol was coming from him and his vehicle.
Police say he was arrested and taken to jail where he pretended to be unconscious and while being transported to the hospital he threatened officers and EMS then he punched an officer in the face.
Bailey was charged with failure to or improper signal, reckless driving, failure to produce an insurance card, third-degree terroristic threatening, alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, and third-degree assault of a police officer.
