Funeral Services for 92-year-old Edward Lee “Birdie” Birdsong of Cadiz, will be Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Goodwin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in East Cadiz Baptist Church Cemetery
Visitation will be at Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie Welch Birdsong of Cadiz; a sister, Edna Hargrove of Cadiz; and two nephews, David Hargrove (Karen) of La Vergne, Tennessee, and Doug Hargrove (Mindy) of Cadiz.
Edward Lee “Birdie” Birdsong passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Bradford Heights Nursing & Rehab Center in Hopkinsville.
He was born June 12, 1931, in Cadiz, Kentucky, the son of the late William Taft Birdsong and Mable (Jones) Birdsong. Edward Lee retired after working 25 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He served in the United States Army; and was a long-time member of East Cadiz Baptist Church and the Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121. Edward Lee enjoyed gardening and watching sporting events, baseball, football, especially University of Kentucky basketball games
