Allen Word, age 69, of Hopkinsville, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Mr. Word was born on December 28, 1954, in Greenville, KY, the son of the late Hershel Everett and Anna Alline Chandler Word. Allen worked as a mason and a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry Word and Greg White.
Survivors include his son, Jarod Word of Nunnelly, TN; his brothers, Gary Word (Laura) of Hopkinsville, KY, Don White (Carol) of Hopkinsville; his sisters, Marty Compton of Owensboro, KY, Gina Blixt (Keith) of Crofton, KY; and his granddaughter, Autumn Word.
