Two men were charged with fleeing from law enforcement and racing on Fort Campbell Boulevard Sunday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop 23-year-old Tyreek Collier for racing another vehicle driven by 30-year-old Derrick Burgess at 100 mph.
Both vehicles reportedly fled with Collier hitting a curb, nearly colliding with another vehicle and a pedestrian changing a flat tire before striking two street signs and going airborne and landing in a wheat field.
Oak Grove Police say they stopped Burgess after a short pursuit and charged him with speeding, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, racing motor vehicle on public highway, DUI, first-degree wanton endangerment, and possession of marijuana.
Collier was taken to the hospital before being arrested and charged with speeding, failure to or improper signal, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, racing motor vehicle on public highway, failure to produce an insurance card, first-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
