Princeton native Jody Cash, who was fatally shot in the line of duty in 2022, is among Kentuckians honored in the annual road naming resolution by the state Senate.
The Kentucky Senate Majority Caucus has announced in a release that the Senate unanimously adopted a resolution Thursday honoring deceased Kentuckians who have served or made a notable impression on the commonwealth. The resolution directs the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to place signs recognizing the provisions.
Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 58, sponsored by 3rd District state Senator Whitney Westerfield of Fruit Hill, designates a portion of KY 293 in Caldwell County as the Chief Deputy Jody Wayne Cash Highway. Cash dedicated his life to serving the community as a law enforcement officer. He was a chief deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office when he was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty on May 16, 2022, in Marshall County. This resolution commemorates his sacrifice and service to the community.
