Christian County Family Court Judge Jason Fleming is one of three candidates to fill the judicial vacancy on the Kentucky Court of Appeals in the 1st Appellate District, Division 2.
Fleming, along with Kentucky Supreme Court Justice David Buckingham of Murray and Daviess County District Judge Lisa Payne Jones are candidates to fill that position until the November general election.
Fleming and Jones are the only two candidates to file to run to fill the unexpired term of Donna Dixon who resigned in November.
The governor must appoint a judge from the list of three nominees within 60 days of receiving the names. If the governor does not appoint a judge, the chief justice will make the appointment.
