Mary “Mae” Elizabeth Johnson, 81, Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Nashville, Tenn.
Mary was the daughter of the late Prentiss Moss and Athleen Jordan. She was born on June 29, 1942, in Christian Co. KY.
Mary was a member of Herndon Bronaugh Baptist Church where she was the Church Secretary for 57 years. She was also the leader of the Culinary Committee, a previous choir member, and the financial committee.
Mary was employed as a production line worker with Thomas Industries. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo, socializing, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Johnson; siblings, Louise Wilkerson and Claudine Jordan.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Niecy) Moss, Deborah “Niecy” Johnson, and Janice (Lonnie) Dillard; siblings, Charlene Northington, James “Catfish” Jordan, Virginia Cox, Albert Jordan, and Caustin “Ray” (Elaine) Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Services will be on Saturday, March 30 at noon at Gamble Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Double Barn Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday morning at 11:00.
