A man was severely injured in an accident in a parking lot on Walnut Street Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a man was next to an SUV when the vehicle came out of gear and made a circle in the parking lot knocking the man over cutting his leg and causing a severe head injury.
The SUV came to a stop after hitting a pole in the parking lot. Police say it is unknown if the man was working on the vehicle at the time of the accident or was just attempting to get in the driver’s seat.
The man who is over 80-years-old was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter that flew him to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
