Ruby Pearl Davie, 91, Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Hopkinsville.
Ruby joined Antioch Baptist Church now known as New Antioch House of Praise where she was a member of the Mother’s Board. She was a caregiver who enjoyed singing. She was once a part of the choir, Voices of Lafayette. She loved cooking, spending time with her family, and taking care of others. She loved pets and her cat, Midnight.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Davie; sons, Ronald J. Davie, and Chuck E. Davie; siblings, James Bell, Emma L. Bell, and Dorothy J. Bell-Blane.
After the passing of Emma Lou in 1974, Ruby opened her heart and her home and raised Gralin Bell and Monica McCombs as her children.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Gralin Bell, Monica McCombs, Veronica (Gery) Gold, David (Teresa) Polley, Mark (Tanya) Bell, John T. Davie, Derryl Blane, Paula Davie, and Angel Davie; sister-in-law, Doris Day; daughter-in-law, Mary Bell Davie; a host of great nieces and nephews.
Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be on Friday, April 5 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Lafayette Cemetery.
