A Hopkinsville man was taken into custody after he led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit that started in Todd County and ended in Christian County Friday afternoon.
Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Baumann says they attempted to stop a motorcycle driven by 44-year-old Neil Powell for speeding on Butler Road at the intersection of Allison Road and he fled at speeds of 120 mph.
The pursuit reportedly came to an end when he wrecked in Christian County near the intersection of Kentucky 1843 and fled on foot before being apprehended.
An ambulance was called to check out Powell but he did not want to be taken to the hospital.
Powell was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of meth, reckless driving, and several other traffic violations.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by The Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkinsville Police Department, and Christian County EMS.
