While it may have been eclipsed by other events on Monday, WKDZ celebrated 58 years of community service.
It was on April 8, 1966, that WKDZ-AM first signed on the air with Trigg County native Willie Wilson, being the first voice on the station.
Wilson, who is now 94 years old, still fondly remembers that historic day.
