The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Human Rights Commission continue their series that explores the diversity of our community through food and is perfect for anyone who loves food, conversation, and learning about other cultures through public interaction.
The Supper Club Inspiring Cultural Culinary Conversations will meet Thursday night (4/11) at 6:00 at the Pennyroyal Area Museum and will feature Roger Alleyne and Desaepa and Zirconia Vansauwa of Vansauwas Tacos & Vegan Eats.
The couple’s food truck was born out of Desaepa’s desire to make jerk chicken up to the standards of Roger, who is Zirconia’s father. The cuisine, influenced by Roger’s Barbadian roots, has made Vansauwas Tacos & Vegan Eats a community favorite.
During the program, Roger and Desaepa will demonstrate a variety of dishes for guests to taste and experience. Attendees will also receive a recipe and any unique ingredients needed to recreate the dish at home.
The cost to attend the program is $10 per person, and you can purchase a season pass for all remaining programs for $50.
All proceeds from tonight’s Supper Club will go towards the rehabilitation of the Vansauwas food truck, which suffered major damage in a fire earlier this year.
Past Supper Clubs have celebrated the cuisines of Puerto Rico, Kenya, Japan, and India.
The next Supper Club will take place on June 13 with four more scheduled for 2024.
