A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly ran from law enforcement as they arrived at his home to arrest him on active warrants Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they went to East 7th Street to locate 19-year-old John Smith who had two active warrants for failure to appear when they arrived they were told he fled and hid under a trailer on Sheena Avenue.
He was taken into custody and after a search of the area where he was hiding a bag of synthetic drugs was reportedly found.
Smith was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, public intoxication, possession of synthetic drugs, and tampering with physical evidence.
