Princeton Man Pleads Guilty to Shots Fired Charges

A Princeton man charged with firing a gun at another vehicle during a December dispute entered a guilty plea in Christian County Circuit Court on Wednesday.

34-year-old Lametre Riley entered the plea to first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree disorderly conduct with the Commonwealth recommending three years in prison. A recommendation on probation was not given by prosecutors until they had a chance to go over the pre-sentence investigation.

A charge of attempted first-degree assault was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Hopkinsville Police responded to a convenience store on Glass Avenue on December 7 to investigate a report of shots being fired. They said their investigation determined Riley and another man had gotten into a fight, at which time Riley fired a shot and hit the other man’s truck.

An ambulance was called to check on the man who had been assaulted but he refused medical attention.

Final sentencing was set for June 5 and Judge Andrew Self agreed to release Riley from his ankle monitor until his final sentencing date.
