Barbara Long, age 61, of Hopkinsville, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab in Cadiz, KY of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with caring for their loved one.
Mrs. Long was born on December 18, 1962, in Pembroke, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Richard H. Watson and Elise Poe Watson. Barbara worked cleaning houses for the Givens family.
She is survived by her daughters Crystal Long of South Carolina, Laura Ladd of Dresden, Tennessee, and Rebecca Strader of Elkton, Kentucky; her brother Gilbert Watson of Crofton, and her sisters Brenda Detamore of South Carolina and Carolyn McGee of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; and her six grandchildren and her boyfriend, Terry Simpson of Hopkinsville.
