Rita Bond Slaughter age 84, of Pembroke, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at her home. Funeral Services will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1 PM with burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Slaughter was born on March 14, 1940, in Pembroke, KY at her home, the daughter of the late Norris “Buck” and Josephine Mason Bond. Rita was retired from the City of Pembroke as a City Clerk. She was a lifetime member of Pembroke Christian Church and a member of Pembroke Ruritan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bookum Bond.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Alton Slaughter of Pembroke; her sons, Keith Bond Slaughter (Lori) of Bowling Green, and Jeff Slaughter (Jill) of Pembroke; grandchildren, Ashley Benge (Kyle), Lauren Slaughter (Cameron Odil), Zach Frommel, Kaitlyn Austin (Dylan); and seven great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Anne Benge, Lynnleigh Kate Benge, Steven Frommel, Weston Lucht, Braydon Frommel, Hazel Frommel, and Adelynn Josephine Austin.
