Officials with Christian County Public Schools have announced the speakers for the upcoming commencement exercises for Christian County and Hopkinsville high schools.
Peyton Moshier will deliver the commencement address for CCHS and Nicole Poindexter will speak for HHS. Ceremonies for both schools will take place Friday, May 17, with the Tigers drawing the early slate at 5 PM, and the Colonels celebrating at 8:30 PM.
Moshier is a 2019 graduate of Madisonville Community College and a 2020 graduate from Murray State University. He holds a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of the Cumberlands. He has been married to his wife, Abby, for almost three years, and the couple have a four-legged furbaby aptly named Colonel.
Moshier has taught at CCHS for the last four years as the personal finance instructor, and currently serves as the head girls soccer coach and an assistant baseball coach.
In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family at the lake, coaching, and is an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Poindexter is a proud graduate of CCPS and has devoted her entire 27 year career to the district. She currently serves as the Full Service Community Schools Director, and she began teaching in 1996.
She has also served the district as a special education teacher, school counselor, assistant principal and head principal. She was the assistant principal at HHS from 2018-2021, where she formed a great relationship with the students from the Class of 2024.
Poindexter earned degrees from Hopkinsville Community College, Austin Peay State University, and Murray State University. She is married to her husband, Mark Sr., and the two have five children and two granddaughters.
This tandem was selected by their respective student bodies, and a live stream of both ceremonies will be available on the district website and Facebook page.
