A Hopkinsville man was charged with trafficking drugs after a search of his home located on McKee Street that connects to East 18th Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday.
Hopkinsville Police say they went to the home of 39-year-old DeMarcus McCarley to conduct a search of his home and he attempted to flee in a rental vehicle and hit a police cruiser and almost hit an officer who was on foot.
McCarley has been reportedly arrested in Christian County 12 times with 5 being drug trafficking charges.
He was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, first-degree criminal mischief, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, trafficking cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.
