Eugene Coakley “Coke” Killebrew, age 93, of Hopkinsville, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024. Funeral Services will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, with Chaplin Paul Ganther and Brother David Smith officiating and burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle those arrangements.
Mr. Killebrew was born on July 5, 1930, in Christian County, KY the son of the late Garrison and Evie Idell Mathis Killebrew. Eugene was a proud Army Veteran who served over 28 years active and Reserve. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War. He was an electrician for the IBEW and a member of the IBEW Union Local 1816 for 68 years. He as a member of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilton Ray Killebrew, Charles Killebrew, Stanley Killebrew, Erwood Killebrew, and Durwood Killebrew; his sisters, Kathleen Still, Gladys Daniel, Jane Tucker, Stella Brown, Margie Belle Killebrew, Linda Humphries, Martha Warner, and Asalee Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Joyce Williams Killebrew of Hopkinsville, KY; his son Mike Killebrew (Randa) of Herndon, KY; his daughter Marlene East of Herndon, KY; his grandchildren, Brandon Killebrew (Kiley), Lacey Folz (David), John East (Leeann), Elizabeth East; his nine great-grandchildren; and his 2 great-great-grandchildren.
