A Hopkinsville man was charged with attempted arson after a report of a man waving a stick that was on fire at vehicles on East 9th Street Sunday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for 64-year-old Ricky Lovins who was waving around a stick that was on fire at moving vehicles and found someone had also tried to set fire to a vehicle at Gamble Funeral Home.
A light fixture on the funeral home building was also reportedly found in a trash can.
Lovins was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and attempted third-degree arson.
