As Christian County begins its cleanup from this past Sunday’s storms, a plan is starting to materialize for clearing out all the debris.
Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam said that pickup should being next Monday, as it has taken some time to get the proper permitting and staging for the burn sites.
This includes “green debris.”
Gilliam noted the pickup throughout the county will be methodical, and can only include very specific materials at this juncture.
As of now, Christian County employees will be the ones doing the pickup, and larger property owners do have the right to burn debris at their discretion if they choose not to wait for services.
Furthermore, Gilliam added that his office is trying to compile a list of volunteer agencies — for folks who can’t manage to get their own debris to the side of the road.
