Name Released In Pyle Lane Pursuit

Police have released the name of a Hopkinsville man that was charged with fleeing from law enforcement after a traffic stop on Pyle Lane Saturday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop an SUV driven by 24-year-old Octavian Tyler for speeding and he fled at speeds of 90 mph before running into an embankment at the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Pyle Lane.

Tyler was transported to the hospital for difficulty breathing after the crash. Police say the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Tyler was later arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign, no operator’s license, two counts of receiving stolen property, and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police.
