Over the years, as more tornadoes impact western Kentucky, many have pondered if ‘Tornado Alley’ has shifted east.
Meteorologist and Kentucky Mesonet Outreach Manager Shane Holinde told Elkton Rotarians last week there are two distinct tornado alley zones.
Holinde added that tornado numbers have been higher than average across Kentucky this year.
The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed at least seven western Kentucky tornadoes following three rounds of severe weather last Sunday.
