Red Cross Opens Community Outreach Center in Christian County

The Red Cross has opened Community Outreach Centers to support individuals impacted by the severe weather and tornadoes throughout western and central Kentucky over Memorial Day weekend, including in Hopkinsville.

The Red Cross is offering emergency assistance through its outreach centers and several mobile community outreach teams. Caseworkers are available to meet one-on-one with individuals to develop personalized recovery plans for those whose homes have been significantly damaged or destroyed, navigate paperwork, and locate help from other agencies.

The Command Outreach Center in Hopkinsville is located at the Christian County Red Cross Office at 709 South Main Street and will be open Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

If you are unable to attend, you may call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767).

In addition to Christian County, Red Cross Community Outreach Centers opened in Beechmont, Bowling Green, Dawson Springs, and Princeton.

With the help of partners, as of Tuesday, the Red Cross in Kentucky has served nearly 3,000 meals and snacks distributed to more than 230 relief teams and has provided help to people with medical or disability needs, as well as emotional and spiritual support.
