The City of Cadiz is disputing statements made by former Trigg County Country Ham Festival Committee member Dustin Gilbert in his resignation.
According to a statement issued by Cadiz Mayor Todd King Saturday afternoon:
“The City of Cadiz unequivocally disputes the statements made by Dustin Gilbert alleging impropriety with the Ham Festival Committee’s choice of stage production company for this year’s festival. All procurement procedures were followed correctly. Even though the City’s ethics ordinance does not apply to the Ham Festival Committee, out of an abundance of caution the City made all disclosures called for by its longstanding ethics ordinance in an effort to be exceedingly transparent. Any suggestion to the contrary is false.”
