Officials with Christian County returned a host of indictments Monday morning — concerning the kidnapping of a minor, the robbery of a local business and several other serious concerns.
A true bill was returned on 33-year-old Matthew Naylor, of Hopkinsville, with 13 charges, including kidnapping of a minor, possession of a handgun by convicted felon, using restricted ammunition during a felony, three counts of first degree wanton endangerment, two counts of third degree assault of a police officer, one count of second degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, retaliating against a participant in a legal process, fourth degree assault with minor injury, domestic violence with no visible injury and resisting arrest.
On, or about, May 6, Naylor restrained a victim with intent to use him as a shield, against the orders of law enforcement, bit and physically pulled an officer down a flight of stairs, kicked another and also endangered another.
Bail was set at $25,000.
A true bill was returned for 40-year-old Matthew Mitchell on first degree assault domestic violence.
On, or about, May 4, Mitchell displayed an “extreme indifference to the value of human life,” when he wantonly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk to his brother, causing serious physical injury.
Bail was set at $50,000.
A true bill was returned on 49-year-old Maurice Watkins and 37-year-old Sylvia Castro, both of Owensboro, with the former earning a charge of first degree robbery, and the latter tagged with complicity to said robbery.
On, or about, April 12, in Christian County, Watkins either used or threatened physical force in the commission of a theft at a Dollar General Store, while armed with a deadly weapon and/or dangerous instrument. Castro was acting as an accomplice.
Bail was set at $100,000 for each.
A true bill was returned on 34-year-old Jessica Zepeda, of Central City, for promoting first degree contraband.
On, or about, May 2, she was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine while an inmate of Christian County Jail.
Bail was set at $2,500.
And a true bill was returned on 49-year-old Denisa Killebrew, of Hopkinsville, for receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more.
On, or about, March 27, she was in possession of a trailer knowing it to be stolen.
She was released on recognizance.
