Two Charged With Trafficking Drugs During Hopkinsville Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on East 9th Street for window tint on the windshield led to drug charges for two Hopkinsville men Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Charles Alston and during the stop, officers could smell the odor of marijuana.

After a search of the vehicle, A loaded handgun, marijuana, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found.

Alston was arrested and charged with excessive window tint, trafficking marijuana, failure to wear a seat belt, and failure to maintain required insurance. Alston’s passenger 48-year-old Christopher Holman was also arrested and charged with failure to wear a seat belt and trafficking fentanyl.
