A Hopkinsville man was arrested after a wreck on East 1st Street just a few hours after getting released from jail Tuesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 35-year-old Jeremy Tillman used his vehicle to hit a car pushing them into a utility pole on East 1st Street near the intersection of Mechanic Street.

Tillman then reportedly threatened the people in the vehicle and fled the area in his vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

Police say Tillman had been arrested shortly by the same officers that worked the wreck a few hours before for fourth-degree assault but he had been released from jail.

An ambulance was called to check out the two people in the car, but neither wanted to be transported to the hospital.

Tillman was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree criminal mischief, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
