A Hopkinsville woman was charged with multiple offenses following a Saturday night traffic crash on the Eagle Way Bypass.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies said they observed two vehicles in the turn lane near the intersection of the Breathitt Parkway that had been involved in a collision.
The report said 46-year-old Penny Rushing was found slumped over in the driver’s seat and when asked to provide her driver’s license, registration, and insurance card, she had slurred speech and delayed reactions. Rushing was able to produce her driver’s license but failed to show current insurance or registration for the vehicle.
Deputies said a police K-9 unit alerted on the vehicle with several pills, a small baggie of green leafy substance, and a pipe were found inside.
Deputies said during an attempt to conduct roadside sobriety tests, Rushing became enraged, attempted to attack the K-9 deputy, and tried to walk into traffic.
She was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, attempted assault of a police officer, and several other traffic offenses.
