The Small Business Commission continues to discuss what would be the best use of funds. During its meeting last week, members brought up concrete ideas for how to entice businesses.
Andy Naghtin says maybe extending the tax breaks that are offered to larger businesses would help small businesses grow.
Richie Acevedo suggested maybe hosting small business trainings, which DeeAnna Sova agreed with.
Tyler Young says having someone recruite and work with small businesses is needed.
Though they did not come to a final agreement, the Commission is preparing a budget request for the City Council in the fall. At the meeting, Young was chosen to serve as Chairman for the new fiscal year and Sova was voted in as Vice Chair.
