An Adams, Tennessee man was arrested on charges he failed to stop for police Saturday night following a speeding violation.
Hopkinsville police said they observed 31-year-old Vincent Morrow driving 61 mph on Fort Campbell Boulevard. The report said when the officer turned on his emergency lights to try and catch the vehicle it accelerated and turned onto McCoy Avenue and turned off his lights.
The officer spotted Morrow a short time later turning into the Fancy Liquor and Bar parking lot. The report said he then turned onto Griffen Bell Road and Sivley Road before returning to the bar’s parking lot.
Police said an odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and Morrow told them he wasn’t trying to elude them — he was just trying to catch up to his friend.
Morrow was arrested and charged with speeding, second-degree fleeing police, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and having no insurance.
