Governor Beshear Says Kentucky Still Waiting On FEMA Assistance

Governor Andy Beshear says he is still waiting to hear if Kentucky will receive funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help pay storm recovery costs from the Memorial Day weekend severe storms.

Governor Beshear said it is still too early to know if the funding will be approved and how much will be allocated.

Thousands of western Kentucky residents and several businesses were without electricity for at least one and sometimes multiple days. Trigg, Christian, Caldwell, and Hopkins Counties issued emergency declarations after the storms.
