CSX Railroad plans to close several railroad crossings in the coming weeks, starting with four crossings in Hopkins County before branching out to other crossings in Christian and Hopkins counties the following week.
The scheduled dates of closure are:
• July 8 — Hospital Drive in Madisonville
• July 9 — West Noel (KY 1178) in Madisonville
• July 10 — West Broadway in Madisonville
• July 11 — West Moss Avenue in Earlington
Each closure is expected to last roughly 24 to 48 hours, depending on weather, rail traffic, and other factors.
Then, beginning on July 15, two production teams will address other city, county, private, and state roads along the line between Hanson and Hopkinsville. Specific dates for these closures have not yet been set, so motorists are urged to watch for warning signs and railroad workers along this route.
