Hopkinsville Man Charged In Stolen Vehicle Investigation

A Hopkinsville man has now been charged with receiving stolen property after being charged with trafficking marijuana during a traffic stop on South Clay Street Wednesday.

Hopkinsville Police say 30-year-old Vontrae Lewis was stopped for disregarding a stop sign and was found to have 39 pounds of marijuana, a suspended or revoked license, and drug paraphernalia.

After being arrested Wednesday an investigation was launched into the vehicle he was driving and it was reportedly found to have been rented in Texas and the Vin number had been altered.

He was then charged with receiving stolen property and obscuring the identity of a machine.
