The remnants of Hurricane Beryl will impact the region Monday night to Wednesday.
Derrick Snyder, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Paducah, said the system will move through quickly and bring a few rounds of showers and storms. The center of the storm is expected over Paducah early Wednesday morning.
Most of the region will see up to one inch of rainfall. Areas around Paducah and along the Ohio and Mississippi rivers could see up to two inches of rain.
Snyder added the severe risk will be highest Tuesday with damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible.
Snyder said the regional office would be bringing in more employees Tuesday to keep an eye on the severe weather and flooding threats across their 58-county service area.
For the rest of the week, the region will see isolated rain chances and the heat and humidity expected this time of year.
