Lisa Bush Promoted To Trigg County Intermediate Principal

Trigg County Schools officials continued their string of employee hires Tuesday afternoon, announcing the promotion of Lisa Bush to principal of the Trigg County Intermediate School.

The 2024-25 academic year will be her 29th in education.

Most recently the school’s assistant principal, she began her career in Clarksville, Tennessee, where she spent three years as a first-grade teacher.

From there, she returned to Kentucky, where she joined Belmont Elementary School under the Christian County Public Schools umbrella. She spent 12 years teaching various grades and later served as its curriculum specialist, before transitioning to Trigg County in July 2011.

After one year of primary teaching, she was appointed as the assistant principal — a post she’s held the past 12 years.

She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational administration from Murray State University, as well as professional certifications as supervisor of instruction, director of pupil personnel and school superintendent.

She and her family own and manage the Circle T Ranch Summer Horse Camp — which has been in operation for more than five decades. The camp provides children with instruction in the art of horseback riding, while instilling valuable skills and memories.

Bush and her husband, Michael, a Trigg County native, have been married nearly 30 years. They have two sons, Keenan and Karson, and both are Trigg County honor graduates.

In a written statement, Bush said she has a “great love” for this district and its students, staff, parents and community, and that her career in administration is a “highlight of her life.”

Bush takes over for Brian Futrell, who announced his retirement last month.
