Logan County Two-Year-Old Dies After Being Found In Water

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of a two-year-old girl who was found unresponsive after wandering from her home on Pleasant Drive.

The child passed away on Wednesday evening, Sheriff Stephen Stratton announced.

Just after 11:00 Wednesday morning, the toddler was reported missing, prompting an immediate search by Logan County deputies and the Russellville Police Department. The search, which included Logan County Search and Rescue, Emergency Management, first responders, and neighbors, led to the discovery of the child in a small body of water.

CPR was administered on-site, and she was rushed to Med-Center Health in Russellville before being airlifted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

Despite medical efforts, the child did not survive. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services are investigating the incident. Sheriff Stratton has requested privacy for the families involved.
