A wreck on US 68 in Fairview claimed the life of a Bowling Green woman and injured two children Monday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV driven by 21-year-old Laqway Mathews was eastbound on US 68 when the vehicle crossed the median and overturned several times. Mathews was ejected before the vehicle came to rest in a ditch.
Mathews was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health where she later died. Two children in the SUV, ages 3 and 8, were flown to Nashville hospitals. A fourth person in the SUV was not injured.
Deputies were assisted by Christian County Rescue, Fairview Fire Department, Hopkinsville EMS, Air Evac Lifeteam, and Vanderbilt Lifeflight.
