POSITION DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose of the IT Support Specialist I is to provide high quality information technology services at Hopkinsville Community College campuses.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Provide desktop, phone and software support to faculty, staff, and guests. Maintain and repair computer hardware, peripheral, multimedia, and software. Assist with equipment installations, inventory, and documentation.
1. Provide support to end users contacting the IT Help Desk. Typical support issues include network access and network-based user resources.
2. Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades for local, network or internet-based software.
3. Complete monthly updates to server operating systems. Maintain accurate records of update process. Perform routine checks on availability of locally maintained website resources, security camera network, and solar panel display.
4. Troubleshoot and repair hardware including personal computers, AV equipment, computer peripherals and projectors.
5. Maintain print servers and print management software. Troubleshoot printer hardware.
6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor degree (Information Technology or related field), and two years related work experience, or equivalent.
2. A+ certification, Cisco experience, Active Directory knowledge desired.
3. Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
4. Ability to communicate with variety of employees and students and be able to work as a viable team member in an enterprise network environment.
5. Be able to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

KY law requires state and national pre-employment background
checks as a condition of employment.
