Details Released In Russellville Road Fatal Crash (w/VIDEO)

More information has been released about a wreck on US 68 in Fairview that claimed the life of a Bowling Green woman and injured two children and a man Monday afternoon.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV driven by 21-year-old Laqway Matthews was eastbound on US 68 when the vehicle crossed the median and overturned several times. Matthews was ejected before the vehicle came to rest in a ditch.

Matthews was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health where she later died. Two children in the SUV, 3-year-old Ni’Layah Cox and 8-year-old Mark Matthews Jr., were flown to Nashville hospitals. A fourth person in the SUV 21-year-old Victor Hicks was later taken to the hospital by deputies to be checked out.
Deputies say the children were not seat belted or in safety restraints.

Deputies were assisted by Christian County Rescue, Fairview Fire Department, Hopkinsville EMS, Air Evac Lifeteam, and Vanderbilt Lifeflight.
