A private family burial for 71-year-old Mary H. Rawlins, of Powell, Tennessee, will be held at Rawlins Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
King’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include:
Sisters, Leah Rawlins, and Lynn Hensley, both of Hopkinsville, and Elizabeth Rawlins, of Arlington, Virginia;
Brother, Robert Rawlins, of Hopkinsville;
And close friend, Tom Brown, of Kingston, Tennessee.
She died July 18, 2024.
A retiree from the Department of Energy, she was an academic achiever with bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry, master’s degrees in chemistry and engineering materials and an M.B.A.
She was an accomplished athlete with a blackbelt in karate, snow skier, ice skater, equestrian, tennis player, swimmer and scuba diver.
She was an accomplished musician playing drums, guitar and singing.
Most importantly she loved all creatures, large and small.
She is preceded in death by her mom, Rosemary and her father, Roy.
